The sunset was magic!
Jennifer was wandering around and I took a shot of her through the shrubbery.
We had a yummy dinner of potato bake, pumpkin and a whole heap of other vegies. We were nearly at the border and fruit and vegies are not allowed to be taken into WA.
The next day, along the road to Timber Creek, we looked for a rest stop at morning tea time. We couldn't find one so we stopped along the side of the road. It was okay - we put our chairs out and had our cuppa.

Then we took some photos of the road signs and eventually we were on our way again.
We got to Timber Creek and booked our sunset cruise on the Victoria River. Timber Creek is not a very big town - only a hotel/motel/service station and the Croc shop where you book your cruise and also buy souvenirs.
The boat left the jetty at 4.30pm. It had 2 x 200HP outboard motors and some of the time we were travelling up to 60 Kph.
One of the first surprises was when the guy driving the boat (who is also the owner of the business)
... put a tiny piece of meat on a piece of bread and threw it into the water. The kites (which are like small eagles) fly down and pick up the meat, hardly touching the bread. It was amazing.

One saltie was huge. I just managed to get a photo before it disappeared under the water.
Our next surprise was when we pulled into shore and the guy threw some small pieces of meat onto the bank. Before long two sea eagles landed, along with some kites and a crow. Apparently sea eagles and kites are enemies, but he has trained them to eat together. I just keep saying amazing, awesome etc etc.

After about 20klms down the river and seeing some .. amazing ... sights, we stopped near a pontoon. We were then served some biscuits & dips, fresh fruit, nuts and a drink. It was just about dusk and the sun was just setting. It was time to take some ... awesome ... photos of the sun sinking behind the hills.

We were told to take a jacket with us as it would be cold. At the time of being told, it was about 30 deg so didn't really believe we would need a jacket. We're so glad we did take one as the ride back was quite windy and chilly.

It's now the last stretch back to shore.
What a great cruise - we all agreed it was certainly ..... amazing, awesome etc etc.

This shot is of the boat. Not a great shot but you can kind of see what sort of boat is was.

The next entry will be entered tomorrow, Monday 6th July. So stay tuned for the next episode LOL. Bye for now.
