We are now at Tumbling Waters Caravan Park in Berry Springs. It is quite a large park set a ways off the main road. The other day we went over to the billabong here at the Park where we were told there are quite a few crocodiles. The billabong is fenced and has a bridge over it so you can stand and spot a croc. They also do Croc Feeding a few days a week. When we first got there I spotted this bird. It is called a Rufous Night Heron.
We spotted a croc sunning itself on the bank. It was a little hard to take a clear photo because of all the vegetation around. Apparently there is about 12 others in the billabong but we didn't see them.
There is also an enclosure where a couple of bats were just .... hanging around lol
Arnold went for a bit of a wander so I took this shot of him walking back. The surrounding area shows the trees and palms which are typical of the top end.
Yesterday we spent a few hours at Berry Springs Nature Park. Maureen did very well going down all the steps to the water.
Arnold and Maureen got into the water first and made their way over to the waterfall. There are many very large rocks in there so you have to clamber over them and as you get closer to the waterfall the water is flowing very fast so you have to steady yourself and also make sure you don't fall over the rocks. Not an easy task.
The water is so soothing and just the right temperature.
The shot below is looking up the river to the left of the waterfall.
After we had finished larking around in the water we dried off and then went over to the picnic area of the Park. I set the camera up and took a timed shot. It is always a mad rush to get back and try to look natural.

Tomorrow being Saturday we will spend some time in the pool here. Then Sunday morning there is a mini market where anyone can set up and sell whatever they like. Then at 10.00am the Territory Wildlife Park people (the Wildlife Park is just down the road) bring some of their animals here so we can interact with them. And to top it all off we are booked in for a Sunday evening Roast at the Restaurant here. Should be a good day/evening.
So goodnight for now. I will update again next week.
