COUNTING DOWN TO D (DEPARTURE) DAY

It is now only 18 days to our departure.  The van is ready.  I have been organising the inside a little better and taking out what I didn't use on the last trip.  Now I only need to stock the food cupboard (which I can't do until closer to the date), load the wine and bourbon (for happy hour) and fill the wardrobe.  And then we are off.

Our first stop will be Milla's baptism on the Sunday.  We will then leave early on Monday morning.

TOM PRICE TO HOME

I had not finished the blog for the 2010 trip and it's already March 2011.  I will try to describe the last leg in as few words as possible.

We drove on to Tom Price and met up with Jill and Barry.  They left the following day to go to Karijini National Park and we were to follow the next day.  I was having trouble with my leg so decided to go to the hospital.  They thought I had Deep Vein Thrombosis so had to stay in Tom Price for a week until a Radiographer flew up from Kalgoorlie.  Each day I had to have an injection into my midriff (just in case).  It turned out I didn't have DVT - thank goodness - so off we went.

We left Tom Price, gave Karijini a miss and drove on to Niagara Dam.  It was a great spot.  The following day we made our way to Kalgoorlie.  From there it was back across the Nullabor and then home.  The first part of our trip was fantastic, the last part not so good.  But it was still a great holiday.
